6.7L Cummins Emissions
Cummins Ism Bolt Torque Specs
New emissions requirements and the need for a more powerful engine resulted in the birth of the 6.7L Cummins. The 3rd generation Cummins, along with the 5.9L engine had proven to be a reliable and very capable motor. It could no longer meet stricter emissions standards however, and it was getting difficult to increase performance output while lowering carbon emissions. The 6.7L engine held a variety of changes compared to the 5.9L Engine. A diesel particulate filter (DPF) was added to Ram’s heavy duty truck line-up. The purpose being significant reduction of Carbon emissions from the trucks. Since then, Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) have been added as emissions control devices too.
